I love this quote from penrose in that he says well if consciousness is not computable then what the hell is it. For his argument to make sense you have to have quantum mechanics have some way to once and for all solve Goldles incompleteness theorem which I don't think anybody believes is at all possible right? It's just you can't even figure out how some future version of quantum mechanics would do that unless it had some completely non-computable and you can’t even build a computer out of it right.
