What Do You Think Is the Key to Sedation?

There's a lot of coordinating with the respiratory therapists to get their input on what they think is limiting this patient's progress. How could we ideally reset the ventilator during activity to help this patient feel more with their breathing and tolerate the mobility? And so therein lies the educational piece in that. With the nurses, it's a lot about discussing sedation. It's compassionate to go back in and turn the sedation back on even if the patient isn't looking as if they need the sedation because they're becoming hemo dynamically unstable or superagitated.
