Remembering the Kanji the Traditional Way
After I got fluent in Japanese, I went back and did remembering the kanji the traditional way where you have the keyword on the front. Because I already knew Japanese at that point, I added Japanese keywords to the front in addition to the English keywords so that I didn't have to deal with that issue of not being able to remember which one was which. And when I finished it, I found that I could write Kanji out from memory pretty well. So instead of trying to front load all the kanji work, it's better to do a little bit of the beginning than learn Japanese.
