Putin's only clear path to victory is breaking Western unity, making the West supply fewer weapons in ammunition to Ukraine. The idea is that if Putin can use energy blackmail, rising energy prices, threat of political destabilization in Europe, mass protests, falling energy cutoffs, then those governments will become more likely to stop supply. "I don't think that we are going to see protests in Europe, and it's going to get ugly this winter," he says.
