The Killer Inside Me, by Jim Thompson
Stanley Kubrick and James B. Harris bonded over doing Washington Square Park, which was the formation of their relationship. Thompson writes this movie, although he's actually credited for the quote unquote dialogue. But so I guess, like, Kubrick kicks him the book and says, do you want to write a screenplay based on this? And apparently, Jim Thompson had never written a screenplay before.
