The Common Not Problem
If you have a pair of knots where the space assigned to one of them is the same as the space assigned to the other, then either the knots are both slice, or neither of them are slits. So when i heard about the common not problem, i thought like, well, i'll try to build another knot that has the same space as the conway not and i'll study this other knot instead.
