Gabon - The First African Country to Be Paid by the Central African Forest Initiative
Gabon was the first African country to be paid millions of dollars by central african forest initiative. Efforts to stamp out illegal logging and poaching continue with army training guards. Forest still used for industry, including palm oil production and some logging. There is a ban on selling logs abroad but instead they're turned into furniture to add value.
