"Life is absolutely traumatic right every step along the way but that doesn't mean that you don't have skills or tools," she says. "You're definitely not at the mercy of your upbringing and there are people in rehab who recovered to a point where you wouldn't necessarily know they had done so much drug abuse, I'm talking about long-term use like heroin for 30 years."
