The Importance of Blackstone's Commentaries in American Law
Blackstone's Commentaries were a prominent set of 18th century statements about law. Joseph Smith ordered the City Marshal, John P. Green, to destroy the novel expositor with assistance from members of the Nauvoo Legion. They did not damage the building, but they took the materials out of the building and they essentially created a fire out of the press.
