The Paradox of Happiness

Because of this increasing awareness of our mortality, that we get more of a sense of, okay, this is not a dress rehearsal. I am really going to die and it's getting closer and closer. Rather than make us more panicky, rather than make us sadder, it makes us savor what we have. As we do that, as we turn more toward what makes us happy, we get happier. We're in a cyclone of materialism here. Absolutely.
