The History of Gliders
The gliders that we were used in the Second World War were gliders, built to glide. There was three main gliders that the British and the Americans used: The horse glider, the Hamelcar glider, and what we christened the Hadrian,. which was actually the American Waco CG4A. They're clearly not like modern gliders. It's the word glidery, but it's self-evident and misnomer. And they wouldn't ride the thermals. So the whole intention is to get as much equipment inside one of them as possible, fly over to the landing zones and release it. That would easily carry a jeep and
