A Gef and Parody Attack on Ethereum Clients
Gef and parody were the two Ethereum clients that were functional at the time. There would be periods where either Gef works in parody did not work, or parody works in Gef did not work. And a lot of users ended up switching between the two clients so really frequently. The attacker was figuring out every single bug in each of these ETH clients. That's hard to do for a subtle bug.
