The US Military Is Having a Hard Time Meeting Recruitment Quotas
Only 9% of Generation Z would consider joining the military at all. The army especially is having a real problem hitting its quotas. Sometimes they're 15 or 25% below the figures that they want. And so the army has actually had to contract considerably. I think this is important to connect it to other parts of society. Free college just isn't coming precisely because one of the only draws for young people nowadays to join the military, he says.
