Being scared about things that haven't yet happened does nothing but hurt you, unless you prepare or change your behaviour now to minimize the chance of those bad things happening. So if you really are worried about getting lade off, try doing a really, really good job because that's the only thing that's in your control. Make sure everyone knows what you're doing and how good it is. Talk to your manager and your skip level about the great contributions you maded, and do this consistently.
