The Future of Consciousness
I don't rule out that systems like this could have some form of consciousness, say in a perceptual state. One question is whether they have the kind of global workspace that makes information available for action and more. Once again, we come up against the fact that we don't have the final theory of consciousness. We don't know whether consciousness just requires very simple processing or if it involves higher order thought as well.
