The Origins of the Metal Workers Horde
Third candidate for who buried this horde is a metal worker, someone who had intended on melting down the horde for repurposing the materials. The last theory proposes that the horde was buried by a farmer due to the inclusion of the plum bob. This might seem absolutely wild at a theory but we have many examples of metal workers hordes and in fact we have on display in the exhibition objects from the largest metal workers horde from Roman Britain bound in Nesbrah.
