I think the asymmetric response by China to these very targeted Xinjiang sanctions has not worked in China's interest because this CHI was a deal which in terms of driving a wedge between Europe and the US. I mean, it just goes back to that point of China not doing things for its own interests in that sense. The Chinese side would much rather deal with a disunited Europe, deal with individual member states. It would rather not deal with EU institutions at all, probably. So, China would very much prefer to invite Olaf Schodz and Emmanuel Macron and have tea and do business deals with countries like Germany and France.
