The Importance of Historical Data in Decision Making

The military has struggled a little bit in how we talk about narrative or story in terms of operations. I took the broader elements associated with joint operational planning and basically just went line by line to take those story elements that I referenced previously, which we can measure. So what's interesting then is with each one of those elements, I or any planner can pick this framework up and essentially go and say, are we meeting these criteria as we go through into our planning? And if you can do that, then that means you can apply to your operations. That means you can roll it into your operational assessment plan.
