Could Hydrogen Power the Future of Flight?

The Interchange: Recharged

CHAPTER

Developing Hydrogen Fuel Cells for Jet Engines

Hydrogen electric or hydrogen fuel cell base. This is hydrogen stored on board the aircraft in tanks, then pumped into the fuel cell system. It takes that hydrogen oxygen from the air, combines that in a non combustion reaction to produce electricity. And it's effectively an electric cal or electric airplane. Electricity comes from the hydrogen fuel cell system,. which is a much, much better type of battery, if you will, to store electricity. That allows us to get similar ranges to the fossil fuel aircraft, which is just impossible to do witht battery technology. The replacement processss actually relatively straightforward. But other than that, it's the engine replacement as people know it.
