Zimbardo's Statements on the Stamford Prison Experiment
Zimbaro has always repeated that he was taken aback during the experiment. He lost a lot of weight, and didn't sleep for forty eight hours. I think he was portraying it as, you know, i didn't know what was going to happen when i got these students together and assigned them the rolls of prisoners and guards. And it wasn't as rigorous or carefully controlled as something you would call an experiment. Am, but still, i wasn't,you know, the outcome was all due to the students. It wasn't just me telling them what to do, right? Isn't that what he said?
