The History of Ketamine and Depression
For decades, it was used primarily in general anesthesia. In the 90s, there started to be some folks, especially on the west coast and I believe in New Zealand who were experimenting with using it for depression. It wasn't until early mid-aughts that the research community really started publishing on it. And ketamine is arguably the best depression med to come along since LaMictol in 1994.
