The Battle of the Carribbean in 1739

In 17 31, a spanish commander cut off robert jenkins's ear on his ship. A few years later, the story of poor old jenkinss is revived and brought in to testify before parliament. According to what is likely an apocryphal story, he brought with him his pickled ear in a jar to show off. The british fleet under admiral edward vernon was then despatched to the caribbean to attack sp Spanish holdings there.
