Pausanius, Parta, and the Athenians

Parta persuaded three of the five ephors to send out a spartan army to deal with thracibolus, but not with lysander or one of his people at the head of it. Instead, they entrusted pasanias himself with the job of restoring stability in athens. As a result, lysander had the humiliation of handing over to his rival the army which he had just defeated.
