Much of Europe swung in the direction of this new Nazi-German state. The East European countries were having a hard time as agrarian economies during the Depression. Germany makes deals with Hungary and Romania, in which they agree to buy German industrial output. In March of 1938, everyone looks away as Austria is absorbed by Germany.
