What About Niger Conflict Prevention?
I wasn't anthropologists by training when I first came to Niger in 2004. The main actors in that or the main ethnic groups in that region are canuri. These are the sedentary farming population that is the majority but then you have different groups of fallback and pastoralists. You have two boom pastoralists so also an interesting mixture of different pastoralist groups, mobile pastoralist groups. Yeah, so it was quite interesting for me as an anthropologist to live in that setting.
