You need short term thinking to change when you need to, but you need long term thinking in order to set the agenda. You can't do that if you're constantly and only reacting to external stimuli. It doesn't matter much if it doesn't matter to you where you end up. But i think for most of us, we we have more aspirations than that. We know that we want to make some kind of an impact. And I'm sure many of us have said this to ourselves a million times.
This week I am welcoming Dorie Clark, leadership consultant and author of the book The Long Game: How to be a long-term thinker in a short-term world to the What's Essential podcast.
Dorie offers her insight into how we can stop making short-term choices that lead us away from who we want to be and start making long-term choices that give us space to dream, plan, and live.
