Director chris newnon is in the special thanks of this movie. He made babe when he was 16, a student that won't fase wards, lorked on tesserly vests and then went back to film again after 10 years. There's an interesting balance of like, genuine love for the characters while al so recognizing their failings. It does not feel like the movie is getting joy from that, or that it's mocking it. I'm fascinated with watching them having to contend with more and more complicated situations of their own doing.
