How to Deal With a Sick Patient

In politics we can think of this as what's the problem we're trying to solve? And here immediately a lot of people go wrong in their approach to politics because they talk in these broad generalities without enough specifics to actually nail down the problem itself. So just something like homelessness or poverty we need to drill down. The second question is for so far going back to our sick patient what's the underlying element causing the symptoms? In politics this might be what is the cause of the problem?
