What Is Dynamic Range?
The dynamic range is how much a camera can record detailing towards the dark end and towards the light end. Nowadays with digital cameras that range of five stops has extended to something close to 12 stops. And what that should tell you is that essentially modern digital cameras are much, much better at recording detail in very, very dark places and very, very light places in the same picture. It's a camera's ability to record a huge range of contrast from very light to very dark and still to show some detail in it. That's perfectly clear. I hope to make some more sense of it. Okay.
