Anxiety

The patient is so acutely agitated and anxious that they can't even a history. The symptoms of methanthet imen, intoxication, opiote withdrawal and alcohol withdrawal all present with anxiety. And reasonably, this patient can be experiencing any of those given their history. But the base rate of methemphetomine, opioid and alcohol use is so incredibly high in our country. So something i'm working on for myself is trying to make sure i've ruled out all other non substance related causes of his mental status. He was started on treatment for a heart failure, exasterbation an hospital. His breathing improved, but his agitation became more pronounced. A repeat exam on that
