Alan: I am a little tired of the same exact like think piece from someone who is both not in the weeds of pastoral ministry among the people for whom this is a big spiritual formation problem. You can even trace this all the way back to the foundations of the country. And i just wish that we were hearing from people who either were doing that work now, or came from traditions that have been doing that work for a really long time. The person writing a column for the washington post is generally not the person who's like, in an office in a churc having the same conversation 20 times in a year with some one.
