The Paradox of Attachment and Non Attachment

To be a free member of the spiritual community means not only to look upward into the light, but to look downward as well to the human condition. For without that looking up, one merely gets caught in do gooding and more suffering. It's that combination of looking up and looking down, of being without attachment in the buddhist, pure mind sense, and at the same moment having total involvement with others' sufferings. In that space we come to know ourselves as the true god.
