The Difference Between Academic Philosophy and Public Philosophy

I actually think people often have a mix of both, which theoretically is a bit problematic. On the one hand, we want to say there is an objective moral truth because that way we can criticize things that we think are unethical. And it would be a bit unfair to just subject everyone to the same norms across the board. In public reasoning, when people have debates, like on the internet or in person, yeah, we're a bit more free in picking and choosing.
