Why Science Books Need Their Own Prize?
No, nobody came to blows. But I think there was a strong feeling that we wanted subjects that matter to people. The value of science is not only just in advancing our knowledge but also in reaching out to members of society who aren't scientists. And it's very important I think that people can pick up a book and know that it is written by an expert. All of our books are fully referenced at the back with all the source material... so you can just concentrate on the story trusting that it's not nonsense.
