The Future of Video Games

The 2600 is a great example of how integral specific technologies display technologies were to the technology of the game systems. So this thing doesn't have a whole lot of RAM. It has no screen buffer to keep track of where objects are like colliding with each other. They had to build that into the hardware design because there's no way you can get that in software.
