John Taylor Gatto was a teacher in the school system in New York City. He eventually left and he wrote all these books about how terrible the school system is. So this chapter begins with him attacking TV. As a school teacher, I found that the kids who drove me crazy were always big TV watchers. Their behavior wasn't pretty. They seemed to lack any purpose of their own.
