Ecstasy Is Not About the Assent
Jesus ascends out of that cycle. He doesn't go back into the earth to nourish it. There is nothing left behind. So he kind of exits the virtuous cycle of growth and decay. You know, i think that's very interesting, because not only does it correlate ke the rise of agriculture and the rise of cities, but it also correlates directly with the la of mystical ecstasy in which one actually felt the divine.
