By detecting infred light, j w st will also be able to see farther away and farther back in time than hubble could. This is because of a phenomenon known as cosmological red shift. As the universe expands, it stretches the wave length of photons of light along with it. For the first time, we're going to be able to get these pure images of this window of cosmic history during which the very first stars were forming.
