Intro

This chapter examines the narrative that the authoritarian right is a major threat to democracy, particularly following the January 6th events. It argues that while authoritarian tendencies may exist on the right, the real centers of power may demonstrate authoritarian traits on the left, drawing on historical insights and theories.
