Argumentative Depth Is a Measure of Argumentative Breadth in an Argument Matrix
In an argument matrix, argumentative depth is easily represented by identifying the central claim and then moving outward. How far you can go in answering these questions is a measure of argumentative depth. Argumentative breadth is about understanding the range of relevant arguments that bear on a subject. For example, it's quite common for people to think that the fossil record is the primary source of evidence for the hypothesis of common ancestry. There are many other sources of evidence that are much more compelling than the fossil record.
