Are There Too Many or Too Few Irregular Verbs in English?

I like the irregular verbs. I'd like to see more of them. But i and it is, it is aa sad whon we lose en. We occasionally a new one gets a towhold in the language. Like a a snuck, for example. What will protect a verb against erosion when it becomes too uncommon is similarity to other verbs.
