The Relationship Between English and the Industry

i am originally from Sri Lanka so naturally i'm going to talk about my time back at my homeland we were under the rule of england up until 1948 this is where the relationship with english started up. language has always been a weapon it always has been colonizers went in first thing they did was force the language on populations if you didn't speak that language then you are not going to have any kind of status in that colony. I think the industry exists because it can shame people into believing that they aren't good enough without speaking in a certain way  that's the privilege and the power that we have over the language.
