Alan Stanford and the FBI

Alan Stanford turned himself into the FBI on June 18th, 2009. He was facing up to 250 years in prison if convicted of all charges against him. Also arrested were Gilberto Lopez, the bank's chief accounting officer, and Mark Kurt,. Both men were accused of working behind the scenes to cover upStanford's misuse of funds from being discovered. An antique and financial regulator named Leroy King was also named in the original indictment but has never been arrested because Antica has fought his extradition. Leroy King is currently wanted for wire fraud, mail fraud, securities fraud, and money laundering.
