evolutionary change isn't necessarily coming about through random genetic mutations. Novel traits can originate by environmental induction as well as mutation, then undergo selection. We access a variable set of these innate programmes that live within all of us, depending on our thresholds for them in different environment. It's not genetic differences that inexorably, fixedly just lead us to totally different perceptual orientations but range of thresholds for invoking different behavior paradimes which are there in all of us.
