How to Scale Back Your Projects

Basecamp has this idea that if you ship something that works at the end of six weeks, you're done with it. And so instead of extending the deadline and just working for longer to, in order to ship the initial idea, they're like, instead we scale back the idea and make it smaller or make it simpler. This was just like, wait, what? I remember the first time I heard it, it felt so foreign. For me, I'm always about like, here's the grand wonderful, beautiful idea that's massive and it's this or nothing. It doesn't matter. This is what we're going to get out the door.
