The Systemic Problem With China
The FT had a quote from a banking official that said, I don't care that it's politically correct. The idea being that China's huge, it's a billion people. It doesn't matter if they own the banks, you have to have a bureaucracy of tens of millions of people who do what the central government says. And we're also, the Chinese Communist Party has only been around for what, 75 years or so. Most Chinese dynasties last hundreds of years before they get to the late stage, sclerotic part where people stop listening to them.
