The Complication of the Constitution
Jefferson is one of the so called founding fathers who never wanted the constitution to be manent. He saw it as just a problematic, temporary half measure that shouldn't be kept in place permanently. In 17 89 he wrote to james madison, his sort of main disciple, saying that the constitution should be replaced every generation. So i think there's a lot of irony you can see in looking back at this letter by jefferson from the vantage point of today.
