The Importance of Being Curious
If you take on the mindset of being genuinely curious in every conversation, going into that conversation, I don't care if it's with your wife. Or the stranger at the racetrack gas station. You will find in very short order that most people don't really say what they mean or they ask questions that just don't make sense. And when you listen at that level, there's no clearer way to demonstrate to another person that this is not about me. It's all about you.
