Orpheus's Isolator Was a Sound Barrier

In the 1920s, science fiction writer Hugo Gernsbach invented a device that he called the Isolator. It was this huge rounded helmet that completely covered your head. White noise is made up of all of the possible frequencies that we humans can hear at equal loudness. The first white noise machine was invented out of necessity in the 60s.
