Simulators, Mocking Hardware, and Live Simulation with Communication Recorder

This chapter explores the use of simulators in conjunction with unit testing for medical devices, including the ability to mock hardware and simulate instrument behavior on a desktop. It also introduces a new feature, a recorder, that enables live simulation by replaying recorded software-firmware transactions.
